The start up of the new band was a bit bumpy, without lots of money things were difficult so music and instruments have been provided by A Pope, and music was also donated by the previous Town Band - who have been very supportive.  Contact with The South Berkshire Concert Band also lead to music being donated, some of the pieces have some lovely traditional millitary history attatched to them and are something that the band can aspire to at a later date.

The orignal Town Band was created 40 years ago and was a strong pressence in Ludlow.  A shortage of players meant that the band folded about 10 years ago, which was a great loss to Ludlow.

The Ludlow Concert Band was launched in September with the first rehearsal being on the 24th September 2009 at Rockspring community Centre, Ludlow.
