History and background to the formation of the Ludlow Concert Band
The orignal Town Band created 40 years ago was a brass band and was a strong presence in Ludlow. A shortage of players meant that the band folded about 10 years ago, which was a great loss to Ludlow.
The Ludlow Concert Band was launched in 2009 by Colin Reeves and Amanda Pope, with the first rehearsal being on the 24th September 2009 at Rockspring community Centre, Ludlow. It was decided to create a Concert band with incorporates a wind section as well as a brass. This style of band gives greater flexibility for music as well as enabling more players to join.
Colin is an experienced musician and his drive has enabled the band to go from strength to strength.
The Banners and uniforms were specially designed for the band in 2010 and were funded by the Town Council and money from the Grass Roots of Shorpshire.

The design incorporates the historical town crest of Ludlow, and was used with the kind permission of Ludlow Town Council.
Ludlow was once called the Capital of the Marches and has a wonderful history.
